Still Learning

Still Learning

Even though the school is currently shut due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Malahide Portmarnock Educate Together has been using technology to communicate with students and keep lessons going. Every student has their own device and access to Office 365 suite. Apps such as OneNote and Teams are being used to facilitate and mediate remote learning. Live classes, voice recordings and videos are just some of the tools being used to help students.

Thanks to Microsoft Teams every student is part of subject and class teams and can easily ask any questions of their teachers and their peers. While we may be socially isolating we are still collaborating. Tutors are checking in with their classes at scheduled times. Here the group can come together and discuss what has been going well and can ask questions if they need any help. This is done through a Teams meeting space where all students and teachers can conference. We even had a whole school assembly and quiz. Staff continue to meet digitally and plan for the remainder of the year and the one to come.

Even though we are following our timetable and daily lessons are still taking place, we miss our students and we are looking forward to the time when we will see them back in our classrooms.
